Looks like C4eva has worked his magic again.   LT+ 1.91 is the next evrsion of his firmware and will enable booting of AP2.6 data without need to reburn current AP2.5 burned discs!

Looks like the new system update that is been rolled out now not only changes AP2.5 challenges AGAIN (AP2.5 games nee re-patching) but it is also locking the 9504/0272 Liteon drives chip to disable firmware writing like what the 0225 chip comes as by default.   To avoid or fix  this you need to either replace the nand chip or the entire PCB depending on your modding skills.

13599 Dash Update Info:
Fact 1. DO NOT update on 9504/0272 – they lock the spi on the chip!! pro kit or pcb required
Fact 2. The new dash 13599 updates ap2.5 challenges. update if you want live. stay offline and dont update if you cant wait for new ap2.5 patches
Fact 3. The update is NOT just simply to set up some background technology for further improvements later this year
Fact 4. Use your original AP2.5 games! Abgx will be updated eventually!

Currently its impossible to write firmware to a Liteon 16D4S FW0225 and FW0401 dvd drive because they are write protected internally from factory. Seems that a full write solution/workaround is in the works according to latest IRC logs from c4eva.   However its more then likley a secondary smaller PCB/Chip that would need to be installed to bypass write-disabled chip.

However there is rumours of a solution once a CFW 0225/0401 comes out to allow your FW0225/0401 dvd drive data to be use on a unlocked liteon 16D4S FW 9504 drive.  Since the hardware is identical.

Unfortunately since REAL Liteon 16D4S FW9504 are hard to find, there has been some scammers trying to cash by selling these Liteon 16D4S FW 0225/0401 drives with fake packaging labeled as FW 9504. Also beware of scammers taking a Liteon 16D2S unit and putting them in a dvd slim case and selling them as Liteon 16D4S with fake Liteon 16D4S FW9504 labels.

Unfortunately 9504 drive supply is not endless because because they can only be pulled from consoles, not supplied direct.  So once they have gone they are gone and will be extremely hard to get hold of, if at all.  So if you need one for your console or some for your modding service you are best to act while you can.
